All shooters at Mantua must either be BEWF Designated Rangemaster, OR be accompanied and supervised by a certified BEWF Rangemaster. No exceptions.
The lower range is for rifles and 50ft pistol practice/sighting, No Shotguns. On the lower range, you may only shoot at the established 50 and 100 yd targets. The 50 and 100 yd targets both have noticeable berms behind them for safety. Only paper or cardboard targets properly posted are allowed. Clay bird shooting is not recommended because of the proximity to public highway. Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. Always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot. Always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use. Always be sure of your target and what is beyond. Shooting hours are from 9:00 a.m. to sunset, Monday through Saturday only. Range is closed Sunday. All shooting must be accomplished in a safe and responsible manner. All firearms behind the firing line must be unloaded. All shooting must be done within the marked shooting lanes, and at the established target areas with proper targets. The upper pistol range can not be used while the rifle range is in use. There is a one hour time limit for each range if others are waiting. Members will need to alternate use if both ranges are needed. All firing will cease and firearm actions will be cleared whenever targets are being changed or inspected along the firing line. Hearing and eye protection are recommended. Safety and common sense must be practiced at all times. No alcoholic beverages are allowed on the range. No tracer or armor piercing ammunition is allowed on the range. Do not Shoot at the support posts for the target boards. No Bottles, cans, boxes or junk may be used for targets. Anyone using glass/boxes/junk, or leaving a mess will forfeit their membership. Here is some info about their secondary range The Tremonton Range is located at the top of the old county landfill/gravel pit NW of Tremonton. Go past Tremonton on I-84, Exit freeway at Road Sheds. Go to the county road, northbound, on the west side of the freeway. Follow the access road west of the freeway to the next overpass NNW of the Road Sheds. Go across this overpass to the east side of the freeway where you will find a locked gate. Enter the gate, bear to the right around the hillside and go to the top of the mountain where you will find another locked gate. The firing range is just beyond the second locked gate. GPS Coordinates for the actual Range are 41o44' 53.55" N, 112o 14'57.89" W. Give or take a few feet. If entering these coordinates into your GPS, specify "Least use of freeways" when you pass the first interchange after the I-15 - I-84 split.
